Who Benefits?
We all do. The Scottish Safety Camera Programme aims to make Scotland's roads safer for all road users. Whether you are a motorist, a motorcyclist, a pedestrian, a cyclist or a parent the benefits from ensuring that drivers drive safely and within the speed limit can be immeasurable.
It is impossible to quantify the human cost of road casualties in terms of grief and anguish caused to those who have been involved in crashes or to those who have lost family and friends.
In economic terms, the impact on public services such as the NHS, Police and the Fire and Rescue Service is enormous even before taking into account loss of output from an individual who cannot work due to injury.
The Department of Transport estimates the economic cost of a death on Great Britain's roads is £1.5 million and the cost for a serious injury is £167,360*.

For many drivers, the tendency to drive too fast has become habitual behaviour.
